Do we need the original Sotally Tober to play this?
No — Close & Personal is a complete, standalone game: the same rules as the original with its own 125 cards and rules sheet in the box. The only thing the two share is the deer.
Is it going to be too much for our group?
The deck asks nosy questions, but nobody is ever forced to answer one — every card carries the same out: do what it says, or take the drink. And the rules are explicit that no card should ever be used to force anyone into anything.
What if some of us don't drink?
Swap sips for points and play on — the box itself reminds everyone to drink water. Non-drinkers lose exactly as much dignity as everyone else.
How many players do we need?
Four or more, ages 21+. A round runs 20-plus minutes, and every player you add means fewer secrets survive the night.
